Mark Slaugh – CBA Executive Director, iComply CEO
As Executive Director, Mark Slaugh provides the guiding vision for the Cannabis Business Alliance, works with the Board of Directors to strengthen and expand the organization, and serves as the voice of CBA members. Among his duties, Mark is a resource to policy makers at the state and local level, and raises awareness about the industry through public speaking engagements. He founded iComply in 2011 and has played a pivotal role in the creation of Colorado’s Cannabis Industry having worked to craft Colorado’s public policy around marijuana in both the legislature and through rulemaking groups focused in multiple topics including recording keeping, administration, discipline, edibles safety, responsible vendor training, taxation, and compliance. Through his expertise, he provides valued services to clients on starting operations, production, manufacturing, and retail management, and compliance consulting, training, and certification. Additionally, he served as the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council (CSMCC) industry group membership and executive director, and as the Southern Colorado Regional Coordinator for the Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol (Amendment 64) working on complex, nuanced, and challenging regulatory issues. Mark graduated from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a Bachelor’s in Finance and International Business.
Peggy Moore – CBA Board Chair, Owner of Loves Oven
Peggy Moore moved from her position of CBA Edibles Council Chair to Board Chair in January of 2016. Peggy is also the owner of Love’s Oven, LLC, a fully licensed medical and retail marijuana infused products bakery located in Denver, CO. In May of 2014 Peggy retired from her position as a Director of Operations at United Health Group where she led post-merger/acquisition operational integration projects for the past 15 years and managed in call and customer service operations for the first 17 years of her career. Prior to that time she worked for Allstate Insurance as well as a law firm in her hometown of Washington, IL. In addition to enthusiastically leading the Love’s Oven team, Peggy enjoys traveling, bicycle rides and spending as much time as possible with her husband, Mike and the children, Joshua, Walter and Nick. She is also blessed to have a beautiful granddaughter born in 2012 to Joshua and his wife Judy.
Nancy Whiteman – CBA Infused Products Council Chair, Co-founder & Co-owner of Wana Brands
Nancy Whiteman assumed the role of CBA Infused Products Council Chair in January 2016. Whiteman is co-founder & co-owner of Wana Brands, producer of Wana Edibles, Wana Extracts and Wana Medicinals. She oversees Wana Brands sales and marketing efforts, leading a sales force that consistently grows Wana’s presence in every region of Colorado, while expanding into emerging markets including Oregon and Nevada. Nancy manages Wana’s finance and accounting department, and is responsible for the strategic vision of Wana Brands. Prior to founding Wana, Nancy was a principal with The Whiteman Group, a sales and marketing consultancy, and previously held a range of senior level marketing and business development positions including Vice President, Marketing and New Corporate Ventures for the Paul Revere Insurance Group in Massachusetts. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She chairs the Cannabis Business Alliance’s Edibles Manufacturers Council and is a member the National Cannabis Industry Association.
